Mindera shares expert knowledge from the inaugural AI Insights 2026 event

At Mindera, we’ve been closely monitoring how AI is transitioning from a disruptive trend to a core business growth engine. As businesses plan for 2027 and beyond, the priority for leaders has shifted from exploring the possibilities of AI, to its strategic execution and sustainable impact across engineering teams and beyond. With this in mind, we recently launched Mindera AI Insights – an exclusive experience crafted for those shaping what comes next.

Twenty leaders, innovators and technical minds came together in Porto, Portugal to explore how AI is reshaping organisations today. This intimate, high-touch Al gathering blended thought leadership with hands-on technology exploration. It focused on meaningful impact, addressing ways Al can streamline operations, enhance customer experiences, and transform the software development lifecycle.

Learning and debate

Specifically designed for senior decision makers, architects, engineering leaders and product strategists, the event provided a premium space for learning and debate. The dialogue was supported by concrete examples of Al strategy, integration, governance and Al-enhanced software delivery.

Participants gained exclusive insights from Mindera Al experts, each with proven real-world experience in enterprise-grade Al, model optimisation and responsible implementation, aligning Mindera's strategic Al vision with deep technical execution. No tickets… or approvals

The presentations began by examining “what AI can do”, with Mindera’s Technical Product Owner Hélder Pereira revealing his journey developing arguably the first AI-driven developer platform, and the impact this is having on software engineering, in his talk ‘No Tickets Were Written For This’.

In ‘Approvals Still Pending’, Mindera’s Mobile Principal Engineer Pedro Vicente tells the cautionary tale of the pitfalls of trying to apply AI on existing working practices. “You can't workshop a team into AI,” he says. “Under pressure people fall back to their comfort zone – it takes ongoing coaching, and an AI champion on the team showing the way.”

Amplifying chainsaws

AI certainly has the power to transform operations, but can also wreak havoc without the right rigour and governance, as Mindera Senior AI Engineer João Anes underlines in his talk ‘From a Saw to a Chainsaw Without Losing a Hand’. “Trust is a ladder,” he says. “Clarity, previews, delivery, operation. Only automate what you've watched it work again and again!”

In the final talk, Mindera Applied AI Lead Ahmed Tokyo looks at spreading the impact of AI across the business in ‘From Zero to One: AI Beyond Engineering’. “AI amplifies what you already have,” he says. “Clean docs, clear naming and proper permissions, and it follows them; chaos, and you get a junior with PhD-level intelligence who has been nowhere, applying it across your company.” We hope you enjoy our AI Insight programme.
