Mindera showcases new video game at Comic Con Portugal
Our new twist on a popular classic proves addictive at major pop culture show.
After trying the new game, Comic Con visitors became addicted to it.
For more than a decade, Mindera has been involved in the gaming industry, building essential backend components for games, and making game publishing more scalable, accessible and efficient. Now, we’re about to launch our own game, and the Mindera Team exhibited at the recent Comic Con Portugal to showcase it to gamers.
Entitled Twin Stick Checkers, it transforms the traditional board game into a fast-paced, chaotic, real-time combat experience. Players gain full control over every piece, which unlocks extensive tactical possibilities for attacking, defending, and strategic sacrifices. They can challenge AI in a solo game, compete against a friend locally, or participate in online battles.
Comic Con Portugal gave Mindera a great opportunity to position the business as a serious player in game development.
While this is not the first game the Mindera team has created, it will be the first to be published on Steam, the global platform for playing, discussing and creating games. This opens Mindera up to a massive gaming audience, giving our teams of engineers a more comprehensive view of the industry and development cycle. Comic Con Portugal gave the Mindera team a great opportunity to showcase Twin Check Stickers, positioning the business as a serious player in gaming development, while also promoting our established backend services.
"Our main goal was to showcase our game and get some real feedback from users, which we managed to do,” says Mindera Product and Account Owner Tiago Costa. “Although initially thinking it was just a digital version of normal checkers, after trying out the game, Comic Con visitors would become addicted to it. Some even came by our booth multiple times during the event to play it!”
